Marsha and Robert Keen Endowed Scholarship

Marsha and Robert Keen Endowed Scholarship

Marsha '66 and Robert Keen, established the Marsha and Robert Keen Endowed Scholarship for a deserving student because of Marsha's love for NDNU and all the memories she has from her years as an undergraduate. They hope to enable students to experience the kind of educational environment that Marsha knew. Their scholarship is a tribute to their generosity and care for future generations of NDNU students.

Marsha was raised in Hawaii and wanted to go to a small college where she would not be just a number. While at CND, Marsha met Bob Keen who was attending the U.S. Naval Academy. After he returned from sea duty two years later, he and Marsha met again and a year later they were married. Because they had to move so frequently, Marsha lost touch with CND until the 90's when a student, who was working on the phonathon, called asking for their support. Marsha was so impressed with the student's enthusiasm and courtesy towards "his" donors, that she became a yearly supporter of her alma mater and offered their home for alumni receptions. As they became more acquainted with faculty, staff, and students, Marsha and Bob decided to establish the Marsha and Robert Keen Endowed Scholarship to provide help to students with financial need. They have joined the group of donors who have become life-time members of the Cunningham Heritage Society. Their generosity and care for NDNU makes them permanent partners in the work of the University.
