Dr. Mary Ellen Boyling

Dr. Mary Ellen Boyling

Dr. Mary Ellen Boyling came to College of Notre Dame in 1957 as a professor in English. One of the most popular teachers during her tenure, Dr. Boyling retired in 1993 and wished to provide scholarship money for the next generation of English majors. She continued to be involved with the preservation of Ralston Hall, enjoying the status of Curator for several years after her retirement from teaching and occasionally after she relocated to San Francisco. Dr. Boyling chose to designate NDNU as the beneficiary of a life insurance policy which she initiated upon her retirement. Future students will remember Dr. Boyling for her generosity in helping to make it possible for them to attend NDNU.
